The Longest Yard
For those of you who are not obsessed with crap films, “The Longest Yard” was a Adam Sandler film release late 2005. The general story, which I can almost recite by heart (I will explain the significance of this later), is about a semi famous footballer (american footballer) who throws a game, becomes a drop out and then smashes up his girlfriends car whilst drunk. The character ends up in federal prison and is asked by the wardon to manage the inmates football team. 113 minutes later and this inmates beat the prison gaurds team.
The reason why this story is worth blogging about is that 5 minutes into this film I KNOW I have already seen this film. In fact in 2005 when the film was released I KNEW I had seen this film. I even said the first time I saw the trailer on TV that I had already seen this film.
The truth is that I once saw the trailer…. Once. In 2004. I know this because I can remember the room I was sitting in when I saw the trailer. I saw it on the Apple movie trailer site. The trailer told the exact story in 30 seconds. Right through to some of the crap jokes.
Anyone else “seen” a film in 30seconds before it was released?
